All ads have four major deadlines:
•Materials In Deadline is the time when materials must be received in order to guarantee that the proof will be delivered by the Proof Out Deadline.
•Proof Out Deadline is the time when the proof is due back in the Sales Staff, Ad Agency, or Customer's hands.
•Corrections/Proofs In Deadline is the time when corrections must be received in order to guarantee that the ad will be ready for the Pagination/Scheduling Deadline.
•Approval/Pagination/Scheduling Deadline is the time when the ad must be finalized so that it can be published in print or online.
Deadlines are typically computed as an offset of the run date, except in cases where ads are produced in First In/First Out (FIFO) Order. In FIFO Order, the deadlines are computed going forward from the time that the materials are submitted.
Even Spec Ad Orders are subject to deadlines. By doing this, we guarantee that Spec Ads will be built in a timely manner. Without deadlines on Spec Ads, Ad Production frequently never gets to building them, as there is always pressing production work. By establishing deadlines but pushing the date out slightly, these ads are guaranteed to be built faster than they were without it.
If you miss a deadline, your organization may have your system configured to send you a reminder e-mail. Ads missing deadlines also appear on a management Late Ads Report.
Understanding CURRENT DEADLINE
ATOL Uses a concept called CURRENT DEADLINE. This is the deadline you're actively working towards and is the deadline displayed in the main dashboard tab grids.
•If materials have never been supplied, then CURRENT DEADLINE reflects MATERIALS IN DEADLINE. The system is waiting for you to supply materials.
•If materials have been supplied, then CURRENT DEADLINE reflects PROOF DEADLINE. The system is waiting for ad production to produce a proof.
•If a proof has been generated, then CURRENT DEADLINE reflects APPROVAL/PAGINATION/SCHEDULING DEADLINE. The system is waiting for you to either approve the proof or make corrections.
•CURRENT DEADLINE never reflects CORRECTIONS/PROOFS IN DEADLINE, as not all ads receive corrections and therefore do not automatically roll to this deadline.
Deadlines can be viewed from the Ad Jacket tab of the Expand Window
Your organization's deadline titles may vary slightly, but should resemble this:
