Proofs are returned according to their priority in the queue. Each organization's proof return deadlines are different, however, you can see the deadlines for an ad by looking on the Ad Jacket tab of the Expand window.
Organizations typically return proofs in one of two manners:
•Priority Buckets.
•First In/First Out (FIFO).
Organizations that use Priority Buckets typically try to satisfy ads in the following order:
•Ads that run today, sorted by deadline, sub-sorted by how long materials have been available.
•Ads that proof today, sorted by deadline, sub-sorted by how long materials have been available.
•Ads that run tomorrow, sorted by deadline, sub-sorted by how long materials have been available.
•Ads that proof tomorrow, sorted by deadline, sub-sorted by how long materials have been available.
•All other ads in the future, sorted by deadline, sub-sorted by how long materials have been available.
Organizations that use First In/First Out attempt to do exactly that. Return ads in the order that they were received. In some cases, there is an attempt to prioritize corrections first. There is often the ability for an ad trafficker to put a rush on specific jobs, with manager approval.
